Share Building sites just got easier!

Automatic Navigation

To save you time as your site grows, Google Sites can now automatically maintain your site navigation. In automatic mode, the navigation area is generated based on your site structure and the level of depth you choose. This is the default in all new sites, and site owners can manage this feature by going to: "More actions" -> "Manage site" -> "Site layout" -> Edit navigation -> "Automatically organize my navigation".

We have also added a subpage listing gadget for automatically generating index pages based on site structure. Like the sidebar navigation, it is configurable to a depth of your choosing. Site collaborators can add the gadget to any page by going to: "Edit page" -> "Insert" menu -> "Subpage listing."

Give your site a new look

Whether you are building an intranet, a project wiki, a classroom site, or a public website, we know it is important for your site to look good. We introduced 26 new themes to make it easier to get started with a great looking site. (You can click on the thumbnails below to see a larger screenshot or watch a slideshow.)

These themes are available when you create a new site, and site owners can change existing sites using "More actions" -> "Manage site" -> "Themes."

Seven New Page Layouts

We have also added seven new page layouts including a three column layout and layouts with page sidebars (left, right, or both). Page layouts can also now include headers and footers. Site collaborators can access these layouts when editing a page via the "Layout" menu.

And finally you can now manage all site attachments in one place. Site collaborators can access this feature via "More actions" menu -> "Manage site" -> "Attachments."
